  3. Copy the SuperSU file directly to the root folder of your HTC One M8’s internal storage
  4. Navigate to the ADB folder and launch „Start here.bat“
  5. Now you will need to decide which Custom Recovery to use. We recommend the ClockworkMod but you can also use TWRP
  6. You should now see a command window. To start the installation of the Custom Recovery you will need the enter the following commands and confirm each one by pressing enter (if you want to use twrp you will need to change the name of the .img file) :

    fastboot flash recovery philz_touch_6.25.5-m8.img

    fastboot erase cache

    fastboot reboot-bootloader

  7. Your HTC One M8 should now boot into the bootloader mode. Next you will need to select „Recovery“ in the menu screen. Its recommended to do a full backup after accessing the ClockworkMod Custom Recovery
  8. After the backup completed you will need to select „wipe cache partition“ followed by „Wipe Dalvik Cache“
  9. Now choose „install zip from sdcard“ and choose the SuperSu file previously copied to the HTC One M8 and install the file
  10. After the installation finished choose „reboot system now“. Your HTC One M8 should reboot now and boot directly into Android. You should now have root access to your new HTC One M8 šŸ™‚
